Numerical relativity simulations in the era of the Einstein Telescope

چکیده
Numerical-relativity (NR) simulations of compact binaries are expected to be an invaluable tool in gravitational-wave (GW) astronomy. The sensitivity of future detectors such as the Einstein Telescope (ET) will place much higher demands on NR simulations than firstand second-generation ground-based detectors. We discuss the issues facing compact-object simulations over the next decade, with an emphasis on estimating where the accuracy and parameter space coverage will be sufficient for ET and where significant work is needed.

Einstein structures on four-dimensional nutral Lie groups
When Einstein was thinking about the theory of general relativity based on the elimination of especial relativity constraints (especially the geometric relationship of space and time), he understood the first limitation of especial relativity is ignoring changes over time. Because in especial relativity, only the curvature of the space was considered. Therefore, tensor calculations should be to...
متن کاملNumerical Relativity: Status and Prospects
We are entering an era where the numerical construction of generic spacetimes is becoming a reality. The use of computer simulations, in principle, allows us to solve Einstein equations in their full generality and unravel important messages so far hidden in the theory. Despite the problems still found in present applications, significant progress is being achieved in a number of areas where si...
متن کاملSolitons for nearly integrable bright spinor Bose-Einstein condensate
Using the explicit forms of eigenstates for linearized operator related to a matrix version of Nonlinear Schrödinger equation, soliton perturbation theory is developed for the $F=1$ bright spinor Bose-Einstein condensates. A small disturbance of the integrability condition can be considered as a small correction to the integrable equation. By choosing appropriate perturbation, the soli...
متن کاملNumerical relativity with the conformal field equations
I discuss the conformal approach to the numerical simulation of radiating isolated systems in general relativity. The method is based on conformal compactification and a reformulation of the Einstein equations in terms of rescaled variables, the so-called “conformal field equations” developed by Friedrich. These equations allow to include “infinity” on a finite grid, solving regular equations, ...
متن کاملRe-formulating the Einstein equations for stable numerical simulations
We review recent efforts to re-formulate the Einstein equations for fully relativistic numerical simulations. The so-called numerical relativity (computational simulations in general relativity) is a promising research field matching with ongoing astrophysical observations such as gravitational wave astronomy. Many trials for longterm stable and accurate simulations of binary compact objects ha...
